“Since beginning my volunteer journey with Community First Development, I have had the privilege of contributing to numerous projects with First Nations groups across jurisdictions throughout Australia. My work has been driven by a deep commitment to strengthening Indigenous organisations and ensuring their long-term success.

I have applied my expertise to rewriting HR documents, improving systems to support viable productivity and organisational longevity. I have also dedicated my skills to grant writing, including for an Indigenous organisation in Moree, which was successful in securing funding to grow its vision.

One of my proudest achievements has been advocating for and enacting Indigenous-led governance. By ensuring that boards are made up of Indigenous representatives, I have helped cement the importance of First Nations leadership and self-determination. This has led to the recognition of organisations as ACCOs, firmly placing them as powerful voices in the business world.

These moments — working alongside communities, witnessing their voices reverberate in governance and business, and supporting Indigenous leadership to shine — are among the most memorable of my career. They continue to inspire me every day to champion the success and strength of Indigenous business operators and organisations across Australia.”
